Perception of Medical Students on the Effect of Covid-19 on Medical Education in Nigeria

Background: The lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted normal activities including undergraduate medical education in Nigeria, similar rest of world. Nigeria as a low- and middle-income country had peculiar challenges adjusting new norm. This study aimed assess Nigerian student’s perception effect on their learning.
 Methods: A semi-structured, pre-tested online questionnaire was administered consenting students from thirty-three schools Nigeria. Questions assessed wellbeing, well interventions institutions student organizations reduce consequence learning. Data analyzed using (SPSS) version 25.
 Results: total 623 33 participated. All private 25% public commenced lectures/tutorials, 92% 21% attended lectures/tutorials. Of those who did not attend institution-organized classes, 30.5% were opposed lectures, main reasons stated being internet cost/availability inefficiency. About 65% participants aware student-organized tutorials/seminars. Eighty percent feel motivated perceived personal be less effective.
 Conclusion: largely negative. Private fared better coping with pandemic. Proper planning will needed curb students’ health wellbeing.
